From April 2021 to March 2022, we’re proud to have made the following impact:
The Net is a youth lead initiative that aims to help young people connect, learn, and be engaged in their community. We’ve assembled a fantastic youth team, a collection of students ages 13-18 from the different schools in the Ancaster area that meet monthly to create, plan and organize programs and events. The Net is an amazing opportunity for youth to attain volunteer hours, which can be applied towards their required amount to earn their OSSD, by hosting and/or attending events and coming to weekly one hour online meetings held on Zoom!
Would you like to join our Youth Advisory Committee and help make a difference for youth in the community? We are looking for Ancaster-area youth between the ages of 13-18 to meet once a week and brainstorm, plan and execute programs and services for local teens. For more information, please send The Net a message on Instagram at @thenetacs.
If you have any questions or would like to partner with The Net, please contact our Youth Programs Coordinator, Grace, at thenet@hpl.ca or call our office at 905-648-6675.
Visit thenetyouth.ca for all program updates and information about the services and supports available through The Net.
Be sure to follow us on Instagram (@thenetacs) to learn about all the programs readily available for youth in our community.
If you’re a local youth getting ready for a summer job and are interested in building your resume with opportunities such as workplace safety training, then our Youth Training Opportunities might be right for you!
To learn more about how we are helping youth get job ready, please call us at (905) 648-6675 or email Grace at thenet@hpl.ca.
If you are a student ages 14-17 seeking volunteering opportunities in Ancaster, whether to fulfill your OSSD requirement, to gain valuable experience or just for fun, complete our youth volunteer form and bring it by the ACS office. If we can’t provide you with a volunteering opportunity, we will help direct you to other volunteering experiences in the Ancaster area.
*Please note that opportunities may be limited/unavailable due to COVID-19 restrictions.*
Ancaster Community Services offers a variety of support services throughout the year for youth who find themselves in need of assistance. We can provide information and make necessary referrals to appropriate social service agencies. Issues such as mental health, addictions, food assistance, crises and other relevant concerns can be supported through our agency.
If you have any questions regarding our youth programs and support, please contact our office at 905-648-6675.
Keeping you up-to-date on ACS programs, events, and opportunities to support your community
