Volunteering Opportunities
Volunteers are an essential part of Ancaster Community Services. They are the foundation on which our agency is built. We have a team of approximately 100 volunteers who dedicate their time, talents and resources to deliver our vital programs and services to the community.
National Volunteer Week 2025
Get Involved
October 30, 2025 – As we enter our busiest time of year, we will not be accepting any new volunteer applications at this time. You are welcome to submit your application, however we will not be able to respond to you until January 2026.
In the new year we will be recruiting for our Assisted Volunteer Driving Program.

FAQs
Most of our programs require you to be 18+ and have a valid drivers license. However, there may be opportunities available at our Youth Engagement Program, The Net. For more information, please email Grace at thenet@hpl.ca or click here to visit their Instagram page @thenetacs.
It can vary depending on the time of year and the agency’s need for volunteers. However, it can take several weeks depending on the position you are looking for and our openings.
Yes. We track all mileage driven by volunteers and pay $0.45 per kilometer driven.
It is recommended that volunteers are vaccinated. However, this request will be discussed with the Volunteer Coordinator at the time of application. ACS does not retain any copies of vaccination status. COVID vaccination is greatly appreciated by our staff, clients, and the community.
